Children look forward to their birthdays for a number of reasons, including blowing out those candles and receiving their gifts, but also because they have the chance to make one wish for each passing year. A lot of people want new things—new toys, new clothes, or even new siblings. According to a recent Instagram post, Maxwell Drew Johnson, the daughter of Jessica Simpson, wished for something much more significant than any other present for her upcoming birthday.
Jessica Simpson is an American singer, fashion designer, and actor. She was born and raised in the state of Nevada. After singing for several years in her church choir, she was discovered by Columbia Records in 1997 and given a recording contract at the age of 17. The year 1999 saw the release of her first studio album, which was titled “Sweet Kisses.” The album was successful in the United States, selling two million copies. Simpson started growing up while she worked on her second album, and as a result, the title tune, “Irresistible,” made it into the top 20 of the Billboard Hot 100.
Simpson is well-known, apart from her achievements as a singer, for the period of time during which she was married to fellow pop star Nick Lachey. After being married in 2002, the pair agreed to let their lives be documented in a new reality series called “Newlyweds,” which recorded their lives as they learned what it was like to be married at that time. They were together for a total of four years until breaking up in the latter half of 2005. In 2006, the divorce between them was finally formalized. After waiting another four years, she finally met the man of her dreams in NFL great Eric Johnson, with whom she went on to have three children, the eldest of whom is named Maxwell.
The actress and singer gushed about their daughter Maxwell in an emotional Instagram post that was published on May 7, 2023. In the post, the actress detailed how the singer had yearned to have a kid ever since she was younger. In a different part of her birthday message about her daughter, she disclosed a very heartfelt request that her daughter had on the occasion of her eleventh birthday. Maxwell’s arrival on this earth on May 1, 2012, coincided with the year that Jessica Simpson established her own line of maternity clothes and accessories for sale. In a recent post on her Instagram account, Simpson reflected on the aforementioned events.
She said that Maxwell came into her life as a “sentient being seemingly not of this world.”
“In the most unadulterated manner, her intellect, heart, and soul soared from the grace of heaven in order to shine in deep ways. When I was a child, I knew that God had a plan for my life because of her, and I used to pray every single day and night for the daughter that I would have someday.
As she proceeded with her remembrance, she said that she had looked back on 30 years of dialogues with God via her diary, and it was abundantly evident that Maxwell was already residing inside her heart and her mission. She continued her recollection by saying that she had read back on the conversations through her journal.
The “generous” birthday wish that Maxwell made for himself when he was 11 years old was possibly the most startling and moving aspect of the narrative. The young lady revealed to her mother that the wish she had just made was intended for the whole of the family just after she had finished blowing out her candles.
“I said Maxi it should be your wish, and she said ‘we have the same wishes Mom,’” the mother recounted telling her little daughter at one point. “I said Maxi it should be your wish.” A few days later, Maxwell overheard Simpson getting a text from her grandpa. She then asked Simpson’s grandmother if she could tell everyone if her wish came true already or if she would still keep the secret. Simpson’s grandmother said that she would keep the secret.
In the end, Simpson’s mother gave her the advice to go ahead and do it, but only if she wanted to and if it had already come to pass. As it turns out, Maxwell’s request was for Grandpa Joe’s therapy for bone cancer to be successful.
Simpson’s thoughts about her Maxwell included, among other lovely descriptions and kind sentiments, “Thank you, Maxi Drew, for using your wish on our family and, most importantly, my Dad.” It has been said that “the faith of a child is what keeps all of us ALIVE.”
