Alexis Ohanian is certain that he will have another daughter when he becomes a parent for the second time.
The co-founder of Reddit and tennis superstar Serena Williams are expecting their second child together right now. Williams showed off her growing baby bulge at the Met Gala only a week ago. Williams and Ohanian tied the knot in 2017, and they are already parents to a daughter together named Olympia who is 5 years old.
During an interview that took place on Friday with Who’s Talking to Chris Wallace? on HBO Max and CNN, Ohanian highlighted their newest team member.
It’s been confirmed. Ohanian, who is 40 years old, told Chris that the big surprise was now official.
But when Wallace asked, “Do we know whether it’s a boy or girl, and are you going to share whether it’s a boy or girl?,” Wallace’s response was, “Do we know whether it’s a boy or girl?” Ohanian came right out and said, “We don’t.”
On the other hand, he is relying on his gut instinct and stating, “I’m convinced I’m going to be a girl dad.” Therefore, regardless of the number of children we have in the future, they will all be female.
According to a cute movie that Williams, 41, published on Instagram of the private moment she and Ohanian informed their daughter she was pregnant, big sister-to-be Olympia seemed to be pleased about her new position, regardless of the baby’s sex. The footage was of the moment when Williams and Ohanian told their daughter that she was expecting.
“The big reveal will be at the Met, and then before we leave, I’ll tell Olympia,” Williams says in the video, which shows a short view of Williams and Olympia hugging on a sofa as Ohanian looks on and smiles. “Olympia does not know that I am pregnant right now,” Williams adds in the video, which shows a quick glimpse of Ohanian smiling.
“The reason I haven’t told her is because she can’t keep a secret,” the athlete explains further.
The video, which also includes behind-the-scenes footage of Williams getting ready for the Met Gala, comes to an abrupt end before Williams can share the good news with her child.
Before walking the red carpet at the Met Gala wearing a chic black Gucci costume, Williams released a carousel of images on Instagram of herself and Ohanian, in which her baby bulge could be visible below her apparel. The photos were posted before Williams stepped foot on the Met Gala’s red carpet.
The sports celebrity captioned the photographs with the following phrase: “Was so excited when Anna Wintour invited the 3 of us to the Met Gala.”
Williams revealed in January 2021 how the joy she has discovered in her relationship with her husband and their daughter has had a significant impact on her life.
The previous year, Williams penned a first-person article for Vogue about beginning a “evolution” away from tennis and her ambitions of adding another child to her family. In the essay, she stated that she “never thought about having kids” when she initially started her career in tennis.
“There have been occasions when I’ve questioned whether or not I should ever bring children into this world, given all of the challenges that they would face. She said, “I never felt completely at ease or confident when I was around infants or children, and I always imagined that if I ever did have a baby, I would have other people taking care of it around the clock.”
Williams said that even though she has “a lot of support,” she is a “incredibly hands-on mother” to Olympia, who will be Olympia’s older sister in the future.
“Over the course of the last five years, Olympia has been absent from my company for a total of only one full day. “I always looked forward to seeing her face light up when she stepped out of the school’s entrance and saw me waiting there for her,” said the athlete who has won four Olympic gold medals. “This past year, as I was healing from a hamstring injury, I got to pick her up from school four or five days a week. “The truth is that I do not consider anything a sacrifice when it comes to Olympia,” she said.
