Residents of the English town of Oldham accidentally spotted an animal in a tall 18-meter tree. At first they thought they were imagining things and couldn’t believe someone could climb that high. When they looked closely, they realized there was a cat sitting there.

Apparently, the cat had climbed up the tree and was afraid to come back down, so it started climbing higher and higher. People immediately contacted the local RSPCA rescue center to get the poor thing help as soon as possible. The rescuers arrived and first left treats for the cat – usually, this works, and the animal comes down for the smell—just not this time.

Regrettably, despite being perched on the tree for approximately 72 hours, the cat remained aloft and did not descend all day. Eventually, volunteers reached out to the rescue team to help extract the feline from the tree, employing specialized equipment.

It didn’t take long for the rescue worker, using a hoist and net, to get to the cat and bring it down safely. It turned out that the cat was domestic and had owners who had been looking for it all this time in desperation. After the rescue, they were reunited. And the cat probably remembered the lesson, and won’t climb so high again!
