After her dad passes away, an 8-year-old girl wants to go to a daddy-daughter dance, so a kind officer steps in… But see what happened next…

This girl in the second grade always wanted to go to the dance with her dad. She never thought she would be able to do it, though, since her father died.

That is, until some people decided it would be a good idea to volunteer as chaperones for children who didn’t have a father figure in their lives.

«I called the mom, and she said it was all right… Nick Harvey, an officer at the Van Buren school, joked that he didn’t want to be turned down by a second-grader.

After her mom talked to her about it, I asked her the next day if she would go with me to the daddy-daughter dance.

Avey Cox, who is 8 years old, sat next to Harvey as he told 5 News about the experience and thought about it.

Harvey was clearly thrilled and happy with the decision he had made. He didn’t show any signs of regret, which showed he only wanted to do good.

When the big day finally came, the parents and volunteers worked hard and did everything they could to make it a beautiful and memorable night.

Cox and Harvey planned their costumes ahead of time, posed for a lot of pictures, took a limo to the event, and even picked up pizza on the way.

Cox told 5News before smiling and turning to Harvey, «I really have to go there and see all my friends. It was important. Then I went with him and had a great time.»

That one moment was so important. The little girl’s smile and gesture of pointing at Harvey are so sweet that they make our hearts melt.

Harvey said that it was a truly amazing night, one he in fact won’t soon forget. The officer said that both on and off the dance floor at the Arkansas school, the two created many wonderful memories.

Harvey laughed and said, «I danced when I can’t dance at all, which was kind of embarrassing.»

Cox paused, seeming as if she was going to cry, then said, “Me and him dancing.” Harvey then hugged her.

It was such a sweet, honest moment, and the bond between these two people is definitely special and important, especially for a young child who lost a parent so young.

The father-daughter dance was one of the best parts of the night. Someone at the party took a video of Harvey and Cox dancing and put it online. The video quickly went viral.

Harvey’s kindness didn’t just affect the young girl; everyone felt how pure and important that night really was. It’s great to see good people doing good things in the world these days.
