This story happened in China, but it is known almost all over the world.
A photo of three surgeons lying on the operating room floor appeared online. The thing is, they were exhausted, they wanted to sleep, and they were terribly hungry. At that point, they had just finished a 32-hour operation that began Saturday morning and ended Sunday evening.
The surgery took so long because the doctors had to remove the aneurysm and the angioblastoma at the same time. It was important to get rid of them in one operation, otherwise the results of separate operations could end in tragedy.
The 32-hour operation became a world surgical record.
A relative of the patient, who had been waiting at the hospital the entire time, said he was very worried that the doctors might not be able to cope with the workload and make any mistakes due to fatigue. Fortunately, the surgery went well. But after it was over, the doctors just fell to the floor. They didn’t even have the strength to stand. Doctors say that such operations are the norm for surgeons and they are willing to go through a lot of trouble just to save patients.
